CREDO CHOIR TO PRESENT
IT’S OUR TIME: SONGS OF FAITH, PROMISE, AND ACCORD

DALLAS – Credo Choir, a Dallas-based adult choir, will present “It’s Our Time: Songs of Faith, Promise, and Accord” on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. at the Moody Performance Hall (2520 Flora Street, Dallas, Texas 75201).

Tickets $20-35 available at TicketDFW.com or by calling (214) 871-5000.

At the center of all choral music is the text we sing. “It’s Our Time” explores ideas and principles we, as Credo Choir and as members of a shared community, respect and aspire to. From Bach’s chorale, “Es ist genug (It is enough)” to Shawn Kirchner’s setting of the Bluegrass tune, “I’ll Be On My Way,” this concert will feature a diverse set of music and a rich depth of concept and meaning. Other featured composers include: Sweet Honey and the Rock founder, Ysaye M. Barnwell, George Frederic Handel, Ken Medema, Felix Mendelssohn, Max Janowski, Stephen Sondheim, a world premiere by Dallas-based composer Debra Scroggins, and more.

Dr. Jonathan Palant, Credo’s founder and conductor, remarks, “This concert is distinct in that pieces link together without pause. Texts relate to tell our story, but musical genres vary greatly throughout. At the center of this performance is the premiere of “Let Our Voice Be Heard” by Dallas native, Debra Scroggins. Commissioned by Credo, this work is both empowering and inspiring. I’m very proud of this program and know our audiences will enjoy it and be moved by it.”
